AdBlue® is a registered trademark of the Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA). It is a high-purity aqueous urea solution used in the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to clean exhaust gases. When injected into the exhaust stream, AdBlue® helps convert harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. This reduction process occurs via a dedicated injector that sprays the urea solution into the exhaust system. The use of AdBlue® enables vehicles over 3.5 tonnes to comply with strict Euro 4, Euro 5, and Euro 6 emission standards established by the European Union.

By installing a specialized SCR emulator, the vehicle continues to display all standard SCR parameters during diagnostics, identical to those of a fully operational system. The emulator sends the same signals to the engine control unit (ECU) as a functioning SCR system would, effectively preventing fault codes and failure modes caused by SCR-related issues. With this device, users can eliminate all SCR-related errors, and the physical SCR system can either be completely removed or left in place as a non-functional component.

The device functions like a diagnostic computer — specifically, it performs the "Clear Fault Codes" function. It was designed to allow drivers to clear the 20 km/h "limp mode" that occurs when the SCR system fails. In such cases, the driver can simply plug the device into the diagnostic port and clear the speed restriction fault at any time — independently and without the need for expensive towing services. Once the fault is cleared, the vehicle can be driven at normal speed to a service center or back to base for proper repair. In today's conditions, a fault code clearer is an essential tool for any Euro 6 vehicle.
