AdBlue® ist eine eingetragene Marke des Verbands der Automobilindustrie (VDA). Es handelt sich um eine hochreine wässrige Harnstofflösung, die im SCR-System (Selective Catalytic Reduction) zur Abgasreinigung eingesetzt wird. In den Abgasstrom eingespritzt, wandelt AdBlue® schädliche Stickoxide (NOx) in unschädlichen Stickstoff und Wasserdampf um. Die Einspritzung erfolgt über einen eigenen Injektor, der die Harnstofflösung in die Abgasanlage sprüht. Dank AdBlue® erfüllen Fahrzeuge über 3,5 Tonnen die strengen Abgasnormen Euro 4, Euro 5 und Euro 6 der Europäischen Union.
Nach dem Einbau eines spezialisierten SCR-Emulators zeigt das Fahrzeug bei der Diagnose weiterhin alle üblichen SCR-Parameter an – genau wie bei einem voll funktionsfähigen System. Der Emulator sendet dieselben Signale an das Motorsteuergerät (ECU) wie ein intaktes SCR-System und verhindert so Fehlercodes und Notlaufprogramme, die durch SCR-Störungen ausgelöst werden. Mit diesem Gerät lassen sich sämtliche SCR-Fehler beseitigen; das physische SCR-System kann vollständig ausgebaut oder als funktionsloses Bauteil im Fahrzeug verbleiben.
Das Gerät arbeitet wie ein Diagnosecomputer – genauer gesagt führt es die Funktion „Fehlercodes löschen“ aus. Entwickelt wurde es, um den 20-km/h-Notlauf aufzuheben, der beim Ausfall des SCR-Systems einsetzt. Der Fahrer steckt das Gerät einfach in die Diagnosebuchse und hebt die Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung jederzeit selbst auf – ohne teuren Abschleppdienst. Anschließend kann das Fahrzeug mit normaler Geschwindigkeit in die Werkstatt oder zum Betriebshof fahren, wo die eigentliche Reparatur erfolgt. Unter heutigen Bedingungen ist ein Fehlercode-Löschgerät für jedes Euro-6-Fahrzeug unverzichtbar.
