Installation Overview

⚠ Important:
Before connecting the emulator, the truck must not be in derate mode.

The EAS4 control unit must still be electrically functional so the emulator can read the vehicle VIN.

The upstream NOx sensor must remain operational.

Installation Procedure

1. Locate the NOx sensor after the catalyst (rear of the exhaust system).
2. Install the emulator in place of the NOx outlet sensor.
3. Turn ignition ON – the emulator will learn the vehicle VIN (approx. 1 minute).
4. Turn ignition OFF.
5. Remove the fuse for the EAS ECU:
   • Peterbilt 579 / Kenworth T680 – Fuse N11
   • Peterbilt 389 – Fuse F6
6. Disconnect the following components:
   • PM sensor
   • DEF level / quality sensor
   • Exhaust temperature sensor
7. Once all DEF / DPF errors become inactive, screw the emulator permanently into the NOx sensor position behind the catalyst.
